Membership Agreement 

When you sign this agreement, you are entering into a legally binding contract with The Boxing Gym. What is set out in this agreement overrides any statement made by you or us. Please read carefully before signing. If you have any queries regarding this agreement, please do not hesitate to ask a staff member before signing.

 

1. Direct Debit: A member who signs this agreement agrees to pay all amounts due under this membership agreement. All payments are non-refundable. No deductions from any payments shall be made because of a member’s failure to use the gym facilities. You are responsible for ensuring your payment is made on the payment due date. Any late payments will incur a dishonour fee. If an automatic direct debit arrangement is in place, your membership fees will continue to be debited from your account until you give us written notice to cancel the payment. It is your responsibility to ensure your payment details, address, and email are up-to-date and to provide the gym with any changes. 

 

2. Safety: You agree to give us all relevant health and fitness information before entering the gym or participating in any exercise classes. Please inform us if there are any changes to your health. 

 

3. Putting your membership on hold: Memberships can be put on hold for up to 4 weeks free of charge. This can be extended for travel, medical or hardship reasons with notice. 

 

4. Not enough money in the account: Your bank or credit card provider may charge you a fee for overdrawing your account. Our third-party biller also charges the billers an administration fee.

 

5. MEMBERSHIP TAGS: Every member will receive a membership tag, which must be used and kept with you every visit. You may not give, sell, or loan it to any other person at any time. If you have lost your membership tag, you must report it immediately, so it can be cancelled. You are responsible for reporting any lost or stolen membership tags. 

Your membership tag has a special coded serial number that is individual to you and which permits and records your entry into the gym. 

 

6. LOST MEMBERSHIP TAGS: These incur a fee of $50. This fee may be subject to change from time to time at management discretion. 

 

7. MINIMUM AGE: Gym admittance is 18 years and over unless written consent from a parent or guardian. Children 14 years and under cannot use the gym equipment unless supervised by an adult. 

 

8. SERVICE INTERRUPTION: In case of a long-term interruption of service (e.g. fire) which requires a temporary closing of the gym. Membership will be suspended until such time as use of the gym can be safely resumed. 

 

9. SPECIAL EVENTS: The gym may from time to time reserve the use of its facilities for special events, competitions and private functions. Notice will be posted at the gym in advance and management will endeavour to ensure there is minimal disruption to any peak hours. 

 

10. CANCELLATIONS: If any member breaches or does not adhere to any of the terms of this membership agreement, they may not enter the gym and may be asked to leave at any time. Gym Management may cancel any membership at any time for a breach of these terms, including not adhering to gym etiquette, abusive, illegal or threatening behaviour, vandalism, or other such breach. Cancellations and refunds are not available on paid in full memberships.

 

11. INDEPENDENT TRAINERS: From time to time the gym may make the services of independent contractors/personal trainers available to members. The gym does not guarantee the quality of these services and does not guarantee that these services will remain available to members for any period. 

 

12. PERSONAL TRAINING: Members must not solicit business activities in the gym unless approved by management.
